A practical guide
Progressly
The Progressly
Method
A small practice for turning one meaningful intention into something you actually do.
What this is for
Progressly cannot do the work for you. It can make the next honest action easier to see.
You still choose what matters, make space for it, and follow through. The app gives that work a clear home: one commitment, one brief check-in, and a fresh chance to return tomorrow.
The daily loop
Let the action stay at the centre.
Open the app to remember your commitment. Check in only after you have had the chance to do it.
-
01
Notice the cue
Use a moment already in your day—a first coffee, the end of lunch, closing your laptop—to bring the action back to mind.
-
02
Do the smallest useful version
Make the action real before you make it impressive. Ten minutes of movement beats the plan to exercise that never begins.
-
03
Leave an honest mark
When the work is done, mark Done. If it did not happen, choose Not today. Both answers keep the record truthful.
-
04
Return without drama
A missed day is information, not a broken streak. Notice what got in the way, then meet the next day with the same small action.
Make it work in real life
Five conditions for a commitment you can keep.
-
01
Choose one thing.
Do not turn the app into a list of everything you want to improve. One action makes the decision clear when your day gets busy.
-
02
Make it survivable.
Set the minimum at a level you could meet on a difficult Tuesday. You can always do more; the baseline is there to protect your return.
-
03
Give it a place in your day.
Attach the action to something that already happens. A cue is more dependable than waiting to feel motivated.
-
04
Keep the check-in brief.
The check-in is evidence, not administration. Mark the day, add a note only when it will help, then return to your life.
-
05
Learn from the misses.
If the action keeps slipping, change the setup: make it smaller, move the cue, or remove one obstacle. Do not turn a miss into a verdict about yourself.
What success looks like
More follow-through. Less performance.
Success is not a perfect record or a number that keeps climbing. It is having a commitment that remains visible, feels possible to begin, and becomes more reliable over time.
- The action happens more often.
- The app takes only a few seconds.
- A difficult day does not end the practice.
Begin where you are
Choose an action small enough to do today.
Progress comes from the work you return to, not the system you maintain.
